School is out and Danville Parks and Recreation has your summer planned! Check out these great activities for you and your family to enjoy:
Music on Main – Start your weekend on Thursdays with this FREE series featuring everything from Elvis to Salsa. All concerts will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Main Street Plaza. In case of rain, shows will be moved to the Carrington Pavilion.
Harvest Jubilee Concerts – The Danville Harvest Jubilee will present three concerts this summer. The Concert Series will include Old Dominion and Brothers Osborne; and as a special treat the Jubilee Board will host Sun of a Beach, a beach music party on the river. Ticketing information and show times can be found at www.DanvilleHarvestJubilee.org.
Play with Parks and Recreation – Take your K9 kids to Yappy Hour at 6 p.m. on June 2 at the Community Market and then your two-legged children to the Danville Children’s Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 19 at the Carrington. Both events are free! Speaking of free, this year’s July 4 Celebration will kick off at 6 p.m. at the Carrington Pavilion; fireworks to follow (weather permitting). If this isn’t enough to do this summer, check out two of our races, Patriot Challenge Trail Run and Midnight Marathon on www.PlayDanvilleVA.com.
